Our Story
The Beginning
The Simple Check story begins with two brothers,when they were in high school in the late 1970’s. The brothers had a passion for entrepreneurship and customer service, and they formed a janitorial services company as teenagers to earn enough money to attend college. The cleaning company soon became a way of life, as it quickly grew to hundreds of accounts.
From Service Provider to Industry Expert
After two decades of running a successful cleaning business,the brothers decided it was time to apply their professional cleaning knowledge to a wider customer base. In 1995 they started Core America, a consulting company 100% dedicated to the cleaning industry. The founding vision was to offer expertise and best practices to help the end-users (facility managers, schools, corporations, etc.) improve the cleanliness and cost of their building operations.
2 Billion Square Feet…and Counting
From its humble beginnings,Core America grew to be the world’s leading cleaning consulting firm. The founders, along with their team of fellow consultants, have since performed cleaning assessments and quality inspections for over 2 billion square feet across 10 countries.
Janitors Become Software Designers
Over the years,the Core America team of cleaning experts developed a knack for software design. Partnering with software engineers and quality control experts, Core eventually designed its own suite of cleaning industry applications, including a staffing workload program (Smart Load™), a cleaning quality inspection app (Smart Inspect™), and a work order and project scheduling app (Smart Tickets™). These products are currently used by thousands of facility services professionals across the globe and are still used today by Core America’s own consulting team.
Simple Check™ – A Response to the Pandemic
In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic,the team at Core America realized the need for a new technology: a simple, affordable checklist app that could help facility service professionals and building service contractors digitally log their most important compliance tasks. Core’s cleaning experts and software designers then spent several months co-developing the concept with facility maintenance professionals across the industry, leading to the exciting launch of its brand new Simple Check™ app.
